Christopher Jones

headshot (cropped)I am a visiting assistant professor of history at Brigham Young University, where I teach classes on early American history, slavery and the slave trade, and religion in American history. I completed a PhD in early American history from the College of William and Mary in 2016, and am currently working on a book tentatively entitled, “Methodism, Slavery, and Freedom in the Revolutionary Atlantic World.”

In addition to my occasional contributions here at The Junto, I have contributed to multiple digital history projects, including The American Yawp: A Free and Online, Collaboratively Built American Textbook, The American Converts Database, and the Transcribing Early American Manuscript Sermons project, where I am a founding editor.

More information about my research and teaching is available on my website, christophercjones.com.
